Hello my name is Virginia Fiegler I’m 31 years old , I’m representing the DR I live in Germany.
– How would you describe your Dominican roots and what role do they play in your identity today?
My Dominican roots are what forged my desire to be an independent, strong, and resilient woman. Growing up in a culture full of music, laughter and positive vibes is wonderful, but like most things it has a downside, where it’s not all sunshine and party. Sadly I had to realize from a very young age, that I was born into a macho-culture. Women had to assert themselves in order to be taken into account. As a woman you have to challenge submission and cliche roll model behavior on a daily base. To have big dreams of your own, is not very common. But this way of growing up lead me to my exceptional drive and confidence in myself. I’m proud of my heritage and who I am.
– How do you manage to reconcile your commitments as a mother and a model?
It’s all about balance. As a mother, my first commitment is to my son, and that responsibility has taught me how to manage my time and keep my feet on the ground. At the same time, my modeling career is both a passion and a professional commitment, which I approach with equal dedication. I’ve learned to balance both roles. In fact, motherhood has given me greater strength and purpose, which I bring to my work as a model.
– You live in Germany: how was it for you to adapt to such a different culture?
At first it was definitely a challenge to adapt, especially with the language and cultural differences. I surely put a lot of effort into adapting and understanding the culture I’m now part of. I have a wonderful family that gives me great support and stability. With them I can feel at home anywhere in the world.
– What does fashion mean to you? Is it just aesthetics or also personal expression?
Fashion is more than beauty, it’s personal expression. It allows me to communicate identity, confidence, and creativity. Fashion throughout my life, gave me the opportunity to develop my personality and play with my appearance. My joy in life is to reflectively work on my myself.
– Do you have a style icon who inspires you?
Yes , Frida Kahlo.
– You have a passion for taking photos and curating your social media. What do you like most about this digital world?
I appreciate to have a portal to the world, to share hopes and dreams. Coming from a culture where opportunities are slim, I want to inspire young women, to trust in their strength and to find their courage to follow their own path in life. For me it was a long and often frustrating process to get to where I am now. If my experiences can help others, I would be blessed to share them. It’s not just about posting photos, but about creating meaningful content that reflects who I am and inspires others.”
What does it mean to you to represent the Dominican Republic on a European stage?
Representing my country in Europe is an honor. It lets me share the pride, beauty, and strength of the DR with the world.I’m grateful and happy to be part of this amazing event.
– What is your biggest dream, both personally and professionally?
My biggest dream is to grow personally as a mother and professionally as a model. I want to inspire others and proudly represent my roots on international platforms.
Ultimately, my dream is to make a meaningful impact while staying true to who I am.”
– If you could talk to yourself from 10 years ago, what advice would you give yourself?
Never give up, your dreams will come true follow your heart. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow and become stronger.
Thank you for your time Virginia and for sharing something about yourself with the Miss Europe Continental community. See you soon in Naples
